Cairo, Cairo, Cairo, with its 16 millions people one could say that Cairo is Egypt and Egypt is Cairo. The adrenalin rushes when you drive here, assaulting cars from each side, horns, ramping taxis, insolent buses, horses and people zigzagging through; the whole picture in a greyish curtain of smog. Needless to say we left the landy in the campsite and took taxis instead everytime we went to town.

...and afterwards she gives autographs

We used five days in Cairo to visit the Egyptian Museum and the Pyramids, wait for Ethiopian visas, catch up on the internet and chill out. We know that from now on the standards will fall and the trip will be more demanding in terms of food availability and road conditions, so we did the last stock up for food and relaxed doing nothing for some days.
