Nairobi is one of the youngest cities in Kenya. Until the early 1900 it was a tent city and the main railway stop halfway between Uganda and Mombasa, nevertheless within few years Nairobi took over the status of capital from Mombasa.

Despite the somewhat small population, about 1,5 million, it has grown to be the largest city between Cairo and Johannesburg, and probably the only place in the world where you can see the various wildlife with the tall buildings of a city in the background.
