The people at Station Six assured us that from now on the road would get
better, African everlasting optimism. The desert had, however, something
else in mind and revealed its authority; the sand got worse, the thermometer
read 45°C,
the engine overheated and after 10 hours we'd only moved 124 km, not very
encouraging.

That night we were very lucky to see a breathtaking full moon rising in
the desert. In a magical silence we watched the moon stealing the glow
from the stars and went to bed tired but happy.
