To cross the border without visas was quite a stressful thing, so eating had been a secondary thing since the night before. Ahmed recommended us a great local restaurant with traditional Syrian food which turned to be the right choice. We came out stuffed and happy for less than €10.

wakey wakey rise and shine


It seems like the main colour in downtown Aleppo is yellow. It's not the houses, it's not the clothes nor the cautiously piled oranges - it's the taxis. They come/look/honk like ants running at the speed of lightning from one end of town towards the other. We regrettably tried one and endured this terrifying tight-fitting experience by realizing that there appeared to be no car accidents, only a lot of noise.
