Vic falls

Victoria Falls or Vic Falls, as it's usually called, stretches over the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, so it is possible to see part of it from both sides. Despite rumours about uncertain currencies, lack of diesel and threatening showers of rain we chose to cross the bridge over the Zambezi River (bungy jump 111 meters, if you'd like) to Vic Falls town in Zimbabwe where we stayed for a couple of days. Mosi oa Tunya (The smoke that thunders) already had a name when David Livingstone saw it in 1855 and named it after his queen, Victoria.

no fuel in Zimbabwe

We walked a couple of kilometers along the waterfalls through the rainforest which was created from the unstoppable mist of the powerful cascades of water. We had armed ourselves with one umbrella and a camera to see this magnificent phenomenon. It turned out that a diving mask would have been more appropriated because the only thing that stayed dry was the camera, which was carried under the umbrella like a baby. In spite of the soaking wet element it was an absolute highlight of this trip.
